Paper

The kids had their Christmas Program on Tuesday. They did a great job! and Dylan even ended up on the front page of the Teton Valley News. He was so excited to get home from school and show me the newspaper. His teacher had cut it out for him! I'll post pics of him and Abby from the program as soon as I locate my other memory card!!

Photo shoot

We were already late for sacrament meeting today and all dressed up so I decided to take the kids outside and get a few shots of them in their holiday outfits! Trying to get a few good shots of the kids seemed to be almost impossible. Yes, by themselves they were great but put them together and I think that I only got 2 pics of them all actually looking at the camera, but I seem to like the pictures of them all looking different directions anyways, it more naturally for my kids anyways. In real life I never have the attention of all 4 of them at the same time so why should the pictures show that?! Today made me sooo excited for my Christmas/Birthday gift that should be coming soon... A new camera. I always seem to miss the shot that I really wanted so this year Jimmy wanted to get me a better camera. I'm sure I won't be waiting for Christmas to start using it I'll more than likely have it out "playing" with it the day it arrives!! But here are a few shots from today's try!

Music & Memories

So tonight we went to a piano recital of Abigail's. Even though she now feels like I'm forcing her to keep going with piano she did very well! She just wants to fight with me whenever it is time to practice. I think pretty soon she will be back into the "I love piano" phase. (hopefully soon) I have always felt guilty that I didn't stick with piano or work at it when I was taking lessons and I want my children to be able to play.
At the recital one of the older kids played a song called rockin' robin and it brought back so many memories. I know I'm not quite that old... but my parents have this old record player that we used to always crank up in the TV room when kids would come over and the songs I remember most were Rockin' Robin and The birds and the bees, so I had to add them to my playlist! I love how music always holds memories... good or bad, a song is like some kind of a trigger in my brain bringing up old or new memories. So for any of you that use to come over and listen to the record player you may recognize the 2nd song!!!

Adding to the fam

So our dog Zoey has just had her first litter of puppies and they are sooo cute and she seems to be a great mom! I am ready for bed right now though we (Zoey and I) were up all night. She finally had them between 5:15 and 7:45 am. Abigail and Dylan have already given each one a name, like we are going to keep them all :( I'm sure they will all be so attached to them before the puppies are old enough to leave their mother. So now if anyone needs a cute little puppy you know where to go (in about 8-10 wks) and the best part is... no shedding!!
The other pictures that I posted are of my beautiful daughter who is ALWAYS into something. I may just be getting older ( you know I will be the big 3 0 soon) I remember the older kids getting into stuff but this one, she either breaks something or eats something (usually markers) everyday!! She keeps us all busy. Thank heavens for my mom who has the great patience and persistence to try and keep up with her two days a week while I teach pre-school. Lately she has been dragging my dad along as well to help buffer her!! Love ya mom and dad!!

Already...

I can't believe it is already November the holidays are just around the corner now. Life seems to be so busy lateley I am wanting to just slow down for a while, hopefully soon. The kids had a great Halloween Abigail wanted her costume to match mine this year so we dressed up like 50's girls, Dylan was a clone trooper from star wars, Jaksen was Dale Earnhart Jr. #88 his daddy's favorite... I say go Carl Edwards #99! who won yesterday for any of you that follow Nascar. I know I know.. I have to like something Jimmy watches or we would always be at different TVs watching "our" shows. I wish we could have made it to Phoenix this weekend for the race again and to see family, but maybe next year! Any way I'm way off subject to finish Addalyn was a little lion for Halloween. The kids had a blast and came home with waaaay too much junk. Jimmy did kinda dress up ( in his 50's greaser Jacket) for the kids Halloween carnival on Thursday but didn't get back into costume for Friday. I barely took any photos though... I've been a mom long enough you would think I would be better at getting photos... oh well maybe that will be next year's goal!!

Looking back a little...

So I never did figure out how to do a slide show of pics, so I just added a few from the summer. Looking at our summer pics it seems like the only time I remembered the camera was when we were on a ride, but I guess that is what we did with most of our summer weekends... camping and riding! Last weekend I forgot to take pics but we were yet again camping. This time we went camping with a purpose we needed to cut firewood for the winter. I think even though it is hard work Jimmy loves to get out in the woods and make all the trees fall that he can haul out! It was a lot of fun, I wasn't doing hardly any of the work though. I made sure they had something to eat, that's always important. I'm sure we will need to get out and get a few more loads before winter hits. I can't believe how beautiful the weather has been lately, it is October and we have still been in the 60's and 70's how nice is that!! I love fall but it is usually so short of a season before winter sets in for its 7-9 month stay. I love living in the valley but oh my the winter here is soooo long. Oh well we just keep ourselves busy during the winter months. Abby will be trying to snowboard this year and Dylan is now in the first grade so he'll be going skiing with the school this year so I'll be on my own or if I dare I'll take Jak up and start teaching him how to ski...we'll see!!! I hope talking about winter doesn't bring it on I could handle it if it didn't snow until just before Christmas ;-)
